The company has not yet announced the phone’s full specifications, price, or exact launch date. Most of the details below come from leaks and regulatory listings, so we’ve clearly labelled what Xiaomi has confirmed and what remains speculation.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max release date
Xiaomi has confirmed that its next Pro series is coming. Reports citing company president Lu Weibing say the phones launch in China in September 2026. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit runs from September 22 to 24, and that window lines up with a phone tipped to use Qualcomm’s next flagship chip.
This timing matches Xiaomi’s usual pattern. The brand usually launches a new flagship close to Qualcomm’s yearly chip announcement, giving Xiaomi a quick answer to the iPhone 18 Pro Max and other premium Android phones out this year.
Will it launch outside China?
Xiaomi has not confirmed a global release. There is, though, an early sign the Pro Max travels beyond China this time. Two devices with model numbers 2609BPN61G and 2611FPNFAG appear in a Eurasian Economic Commission certification listing. A tipster names the first as the global Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the second as the global Xiaomi 18. The listing doesn’t name the phones, so treat the identification as unconfirmed.
This would mark a change from the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which stayed exclusive to China. A certification does not guarantee a launch in every market, and it does not confirm a Nigerian release.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max likely uses Qualcomm’s next flagship mobile chip. Reports call it the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, though Qualcomm has not confirmed that name yet. The chip reportedly uses a 2nm process. Qualcomm will reveal its next mobile platform at Snapdragon Summit 2026.
Leaks show LPDDR6 memory, and Xiaomi likely offers up to 1TB of storage. Xiaomi has not confirmed the memory type or the configurations. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max started at 12GB and 512GB, so Xiaomi could keep those tiers even if component costs push prices up.

It is too early to decide. Xiaomi confirms the rear display, but the price, camera sensors, battery, charging specs, and international availability stay unsettled. Wait for the launch to see whether the biggest claims survive and whether Xiaomi builds a true global model this time.
