Since I’ve started blogging, I’ve never dealt with a trashy site as workatdubai.com.
On friday, one Emmanuel Benson sent me an email that they are interested in paying for sponsored posts on my blog and I should send my account number and rate card. I replied with the details as requested.
Same day, two other businesses contacted me for sponsored posts, paid me, informed me about their payment and their posts were published same day. You can check out the two blog posts here and here.
While checking my emails the next morning, I saw an email from Emmanuel Benson of WorkAtDubai, insulting me that he paid and he did not see his post on my blog. So, I should refund him.
I was shocked because I did not receive any payment notification from him and the content I will publish has not been sent to me.
How can you pay, failed to inform me about payment, fail to send content to publish, only to send an email insulting me and asking for refund ??.
I let him know that it’s so cheap and stupid for the brand to act such way. Yet, he felt so pompous and didn’t even bother to apologize.
Anyway, I’ve refunded him and warned him to mind how he approaches and talks to bloggers. Not all bloggers are broke.
All I have to say is, before you do anything with www.workatdubai.com, please use your head.
I am not sure a genuine startup with a good structure can act in such a weird and nonsense way. It might just be one of those craps online using a website to package their shits.
