Meet the Tech Women of Lagos: A Portrait and Exhibition Series by TechCabal

TechCabal is pleased to bring to you a story of audacity depicted in a portrait series and exhibition event. The Tech Women Lagos series profiles 50 women in Lagos’ technology ecosystem from different backgrounds and at different stages of their tech careers. Their stories are captured in portraits and prose in its own website — www.techwomenlagos.com — which launches on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2019.

From developing code at startups to leading innovative Nigerian companies to the forefront of the global tech scene, the tech women of Lagos have dared to follow their dreams and make the most of their careers, despite all the subtle but ever-present odds.

We are not only celebrating the successes of these women in a male-dominated industry, but also showing the next generation of girls and women that careers in technology are possible and diverse, and there is space for them.

The website isn’t all there is to the series. The portraits shot by photographers Rebecca Nwose and Kunmi Owopetu, and curated by A Whitespace Creative Agency have been packaged into a multisensory exhibition that opens on the public on the 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th of March.
We have also partnered with leading technology companies to organise workshops and activities designed to engage and empower women with knowledge and insights to take their tech journeys to the next level.

TL;DR

  1. The techwomenlagos.com website launches on International women’s day
  2. The exhibition opens on the 16th of March
  3. Other workshops and activities in keeping with the theme will be available to attend.

Please visit the event page to learn more about what we have planned out in detail and to register for updates regarding all the events that are part of the exhibition.
